How to Feel Great Even When Circumstances Aren’t.
It has been one of those rough weeks. Plans and intentions go out the window as you be there for others. The weather matches your mood, grey, overcast and sometimes cold. The negativity of those around you becomes more noticeable and more intense. The kind of week you are glad only comes about once every few months. Yet in the midst of it, you can still feel great, and know that this too will pass. As soon as tomorrow the sun will be shining again.
This morning I shared a beautiful cup of tea out of the finest bone china. The prettiness of the cup, the gold platting, the delicacy of the cup and saucer where as much a tonic for the soul as the tea itself was. The warm conversation with a lovely lady an ease for body and mind. Gratitude for the friend, the tea and the beauty of the moment. A warm reminder that every day there is something to be grateful for. You can have a bad week, you don’t have to let it be a bad life.
When things seem to be piling up, as bad things do tend to come in threes, it is good to take a moment to think about what is happening and to find one funny situation. Even if it is only a few words or a moments worth, and be grateful for the funny thing. If growth has been a part of your life for a while it is also a good time to reflect on how far you have come. How much easier it is to handle negative circumstances, and to choose to change your state, because you know how to.
Problems don’t go away for ever, how we respond to them changes totally though. Gratitude for the growth, the wisdom, the new perspective all helps to lift your mood, your mind, your outlook when the circumstances around you are changing. Gratitude is the KEY to feeling great even when circumstances aren’t.
