Who Do You Want To Be? written on chalkboardAt Being Your Thoughts we work on the principle that you first Be who you want to be, to do what you want to do, so that you can have what you want to have.   Your thoughts and then your words support the actions that you take.  One of the most important questions you can ask yourself is; are my thoughts supporting who I want to be?

For people who grew up in a dysfunctional or unsupportive family they have probably never heard that they are enough.  The fear is, I am not enough to be the person I want to be.  I am not enough to do what I want to do.  I am not enough to have what I want to have.  There is a simple way to find out if your “not enough” feelings and thoughts are stopping you from being all that you can be.

There are many  “I am” statements that reflect how you see yourself and whether your thoughts are supporting the very best version of you.   Many of us are very good at the “I am not”  or the “I am” in the negative that do not support who you want to be.

Why am I sick, fat and depressed? Handwriting on a napkin with a

Maybe these “I am” statements resonate with you:

  • I am fat
  • I am ugly
  • I am a slow learner
  • I am not capable
  • I am stupid
  • I am clumsy
  • I am too old
  • I am too young
  • I am ordinary

You Are Enough. Do any of the following statements make you want to cringe?

  • I am loveable
  • I am worthy of success
  • I am intelligent and capable
  • I am able to work in a job I am passionate about
  • I am a quick learner
  • I am in control of myself
  • I am happy
  • I am creative
  • I am enough
  • I am important to the world
  • I matter

You are enough.  At whatever point in life you currently find yourself, you are enough.  Within you is everything you need to be, so that you can do, and therefore have what you want.  You can change your mind, your thoughts and your words to truly reflect the person you want to be.
